What is ISO 29110?
ISO/IEC 29110 is the international systems and software engineering standard for Very Small Entities (VSEs) — organisations, departments or projects of up to 25 people.
It is organised into profiles: Entry, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. The most commonly certified is the Basic Profile, which covers two processes: Project Management (PM) and Software Implementation (SI).
Unlike ISO 9001, a general quality system, ISO 29110 goes into the specifics of software work — requirements, design, testing and delivery.

Software Implementation (SI)
Analyse and confirm requirements with the customer, design, build and test, trace requirements through to test results, and produce the product documentation.

How is ISO 29110 different from ISO 9001?
ISO 9001 is a general quality system for any industry. ISO/IEC 29110 is built specifically for software work in small teams and spells out the work products each step needs — less documentation, faster to adopt.
We have more than 25 people. Can we use it?
The size counts for the unit or project being certified, not necessarily the whole company, so a larger organisation can certify a team or project of up to 25 people.
We work in Agile or Scrum. Do we have to change?
No. The standard defines the work products and evidence required, not how you work. We map what the team already does in its sprints onto the requirements.
Is there a tool to help collect evidence?
